The insurance of agricultural crops is intended for agricultural producers and farmers in the entire country.
Subject of the insurance is the harvest of agricultural crops: field and vegetable; fruits, roses, mulberry gardens; vineyards, strawberries, raspberries, cultivated briar, cultivated blackberry, fruit trees nursery gardens, mother plantation, root areas, medical plants, black currant, hops, seedlings, seeds areas, flowers for seeds and sale, crops in greenhouses and hothouses.
Natural and artificial meadows and pastures, forests and forest belts, old fruit-bearing and not fruit-bearing permanent crops and agricultural crops in test fields for scientific and experimental purposes, newly planted and young not fruit-bearing fruit trees, vineyards, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries etc., not blossoming plants, like oil giving rose, lavender, hops etc., are not subject of the insurance.
Covered risks
Losses of the crop, caused by the following natural disasters:
Hail – raining of ice beads or pieces with spherical or irregular shape;
Storm – wind with speed above 15 m/sec.;
Whirlwind – rotational movement of air around vertical axis;
Tornado – coming from the clouds funnel shaped wind;
Rain storm – intensive rain in high quantities, fallen for a short period of time;
Fire – burning, combined with heat and light or with live coals, raised or gone outside determined limits and which is capable to spread through its own energy;
Ground frost – freezing of plants and fruits as a result of frost. The frost is an air temperature drop during the night below 0оС at a time, when the average temperatures per 24-hour period already are (or still are) above 0оС. The damages, caused by late spring frosts, that occurred after 00:00 hours on 20 April and by early autumn frosts, that occurred up to 24:00 hours of 10 October are covered.
Flooding – covering, of usually dry ground, by big quantity of water due to overflowing outside the natural or artificial water streams, lakes and dams. Caused by quick melting of big snow masses, long intensive raining, accumulation of ice barrages in rivers etc.
With winter cereal crops, the following damages are covered:
Slush – with winter cereal crops – prolonged accumulation of water on the surface of the soil as a result of long rains, snow melting, underground waters appearing on the surface, rivers spills;
Frosting – damage or death of the plants under the influence of low temperatures;
Drawing – pushing or interruption of the underground part of the plants as a result of the vertical movement of the soil surface due to sharp fluctuations of the temperature. Depending on the level and place of the damage, the drawn plants can freeze, dry or to survive, but giving adulterate yield.
Additional risks can be covered for some crops as per special agreement between the parties.
With crops, cultivated in glasshouses with heating, the following risks are covered:
Freezing, as a result of ingress of cold air in the glasshouse due to breaking of the glasses by a storm or by the natural accumulation of snow or ice;
Mechanical damage of the plants from fallen broken glass, as a result of hail, storm or natural accumulation of snow or ice.
Insurance sum:
The insurance sum for each crop is agreed according to the production capabilities of the relevant region and the purchase prices of the agricultural production. The insurance sum is determined at the moment of the conclusion of the insurance and cannot be modified during the term of the policy. The insurance sum cannot exceed the actual value of the harvest.
Insurance term: The liability of the Insurer starts from:
for crops, which are sowed, for potatoes and plants from bulbs – from germination.
for sowed perennials /alfalfa, clover, sinfonia etc./ from vegetation start in the second and following years;
for crops that are planted /vegetables, tobacco, flowers etc./; from their planting in a permanent location;
for fruit trees – from overblowing and visible fruit formation;
for rose gardens – from the moment of the appearance of buds;
for vineyards – from the appearance of catkin;
for strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and black current – from the moment of flowering;
for the fruit trees nursery gardens, mother plantation, root areas – from the appearance of annual shoot.
The liability continues to the moment of the full collection of the harvest, but not later than the time, which is usual for the specified area and for the newly created permanent crops, the liability is annual.
ANIMALS, BIRDS, FISH AND BEEHIVES
Subject of the insurance:
Subject of the insurance are all types of animals, birds, fish and beehives – own, rented or provided for custody of legal entities and natural persons. The requirement is up to the date of the insurance they to be in perfect health, to be provided with the required feed and veterinary and zoo-prophylactic ensured. For insurance are eligible:
Cattle (cows and buffalo) at age above 6 months;
Equines (horses, mules, hinnies and donkeys) at age above 6 months up to 15 years;
Sheep and goats – at age above 3 months;
Breeding pigs (sows and boars) – above 6 months;
Growing pigs and pigs for fattening with live weight above 20 kilograms;
Birds – growing chickens at age above 3 months, hens, broilers, geese and ducks, grown at farms for intensive poultry growing (monolithic premises, equipped with system for heating and ventilation, taking in consideration the technical requirements and norms for birds growing);
Beehives;
Fish, grown in cisterns for intensive pisciculture;
Under special conditions, the following are also insured:
· Elite, luxurious, decorative and competitive animals and birds for the time of transportation and participation in competitions and exhibitions;
· Dogs – house, hunting, luxurious and used for security of sites etc.;
· Rabbits, grown in farms for intensive rabbit-breeding;
· Ducks and geese for the production of liver;
· Exotic animals;
· Animals for valuable furs – breed under intensive conditions.
Covered risks
Death and slaughter (killing) by necessity as a result of:
Fire – for fire safe sites;
Natural disasters – storm with wind speed above 15 m/sec., heavy rain, flooding, hail and lightning;
Accident – burning or killing as a result of blast, attack by wild animals, MV accident and electric shock;
Infectious diseases (confirmed by the laboratory of the veterinary institute or station) or measures, required to fight them: brucellosis, erysipelas, FMD, rabies, anthrax, black leg, tuberculosis, glanders and myth; for birds at age above 3 months – tuberculosis, Newcastle disease, leukosis, pasteurellosis (cholera), Marek’s disease and fowlpox; nosematosis, acarioasis and American foulbrood – with beehives;
Non-infectious and parasitic diseases.
